FTP HELP . ORG
Internet Explorer or IE has a built in FTP client. While it may not be the most robust FTP software it is on most PCs.
Here is a quick step by step guide for FTP through IE.
Advanced FTP Resources
(Programming, RFC, protocol info)
First open IE and enter the FTP address.
For this example we are using someftp.
You can also enter the address like this.
ftp.someftp.com
If the address is correct you should get a page that looks like this.
To login to your account on the FTP server:
First click on file in the menu options at the top of the window.
Then click Login As...
When the Login window opens enter your user name and password.
And then press enter or click Login.
Once Loged in you should be able to see your files and folders. Navigateing FTP with Internet Explorer is very similar to navigating through your own local files. To upload just drag an object from your desktop or another folder and drop it where you want it on your FTP site.
Of course to download just drag an item from the FTP window to your desktop.
